Bio

Dr. Marc Bloom is board-certified in cardiothoracic surgery. He has practiced in the Tampa and Zephyrhills areas since his return to the area 1988. The Chief of Cardiac Surgery at both Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and Pepin Heart Institute at Florida Hospital Tampa, Dr. Bloom has held his position at Pepin Heart Institute since 1996 and at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills since 2005.  In 1998 he took on additional duties as a Clinic Assistant Professor at the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at University of South Florida within the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Bloom attended medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from WVU. Remaining at his alma mater, Dr. Bloom completed his general surgery internship at the school’s Charleston Area Medical Center. He completed his general surgery residency at University of South Florida’s College of Medicine where he was named Chief Resident. At Tufts University School of Medicine, New England Medical Center Dr. Bloom completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Bloom also served as a teaching fellow during his time at Tufts, before moving back to the Tampa Bay area in 1988.
